Description:

This snake can be found in many diferente colors.
The distinguishing characteristic of this family is the presence of two potent fangs in front part of the maxilla, internally perforated by a channel for guiding the poison. When the mouth is closed, the fangs are folded against the top of the mouth. Also characterizes the presence of a loreal fossa, an eye size thermoreceptor housing the organ and is located in equidistant and aligned with the eye and the nostril.
