Fascinating! Looks like a werelynx, though. Kinda scarey looking.
Fun fact! Lynx are perfectly adapted for hunting with eyesight so strong that they are able to spot prey as tiny as a mouse 250 feet away. The distinctive tufts on their ears act as an amplifier providing them with exceptional hearing. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10152998094700603&set=a.10152575329380603.958289.10150120463815603&type=1
Leuba, what's different is that unlike a house cat, the lynx has round pupils, so they look "human" to us.
What a face! Please add Muskoka Wildlife Center to the field Habitat so this data becomes part of the spotting record itself. Thanks
great shots ! something quite scary about the face unlike other felines...
Wonderful pic...I love that eyes...:)
It was a special photography trip with someone who was friends with the owners and we were safe the whole time, but it was awesome to be able to get up close with the animals. And the lynx was a rescue, they were kept as a pet at one point I believe and then was taken away.
A gorgeous animal! I wonder why it was being kept at the center, which closed in May. Perhaps that is best as it is not advisable to have people enter cages of wild felids and canids. Hopefully, the owners found a good sanctuary for the animals there.
Great shots! If this is a captive animal, please consider to add to Captive Animal Mission, http://www.projectnoah.org/missions/7973468
Ya it was at the Muskoka Wildlife Center, I went with a group of photographers for a trip, I wish I could have been this close in the wild. I have seen then up north but this picture was taken when we went inside the cage.
Can you tell us more about this spotting? Is it a captive animal?
