Field Notes

Description:

Tiny, dark green to black nymphs, black adults. Found in large numbers all together. Ants visiting, Syrphid Fly larvae and Lady Beetle larvae found in large numbers. Some of the aphids have been attacked by parasitic wasps and are mummified (the large tan looking aphids in a couple of the images).

Habitat:

Suburban backyard garden. Rose of Sharon shrubs.

Notes:

Any help with species ID would be greatly appreciated.
