@Liam, thnx for the sugestion. I have already encountered this posibility, but what tricks me is the diference in their anthenas. It is probable not E. pennata, but is for sure of the Empusa genus. :)
Jean Henri Fabre has half a chapter covering "The Empusa" (Empusa pennata) in his "Fabre's Book of Insects".
It is unlikely that it escaped from a pet trade, since there in no shop that keeps insects neer by. But it is probable mediteranean, because its abdomen looks like a Lavanda flover. Mabe a traveler from Spain? :)

Wow, very interesting! This looks like some kind of flower mantis but as you say unlikely to be native to Croatia. Mantids are very popular in the pet trade so it could be an escapee! Welcome to Project Noah Neo!
