Field Notes

Description:

these have been popping up all over the last few days. At first I thought it might be some type of wild onion, as the stalk resembled that of a scallion, and the bud, looked like a miniature onion - before it started to open (which is what is pictured). Even has a smell of an onion. Once open, several green 'stems' emerge from a garlic shaped center, and then small white flowers appear. Any idea as to what this is?

Habitat:

Growing along the road amongst the other weeds and wildflowers.

Can anyone confirm the ID on this one? I too thought it to be a wild onion, but would love it if it could be confirmed. Thank you jakewade97 for agreeing with me that it does appear to be a wild onion.
