Field Notes

Description:

Small insect. Variable color (mostly black, brown, yellow mix) but always has a heart or Y shaped yellow marking on the anterior aspect of the wings. Three different individuals seen here (picture #1, pictures #2-4, pictures #5-6). You can see the variation between them.

Habitat:

Suburban garden.

Notes:

Common and widespread plant parasite.
