Field Notes

Description:

Large owl that is mostly gray and brown. The chest is streaked and there are ear tufts.

Habitat:

Was looking at warblers high in the tree tops, and I put my binos down and just happened to see a dark figure high in a tree, and it ended up being an owl. First time I've seen one on my own without someone telling me where one is! Found in a very wooded nature sanctuary in a residential neighborhood.
