Description:

Brown moth with dark wavy pattern on its wings. Wingspan is about 4cm.

Polydesma boarmoides Guenee, 1852 (erroneously known as Polydesma boarmioides). Erebidae, Catocalinae, Pandesmini. The name of this species reflects its superficial resemblance to some ennomine Geometridae of the tribe Boarmiini.

The adult moths are dark brown, with a complex pattern on each wing. The underside is paler with various markings including a broad dark band across each wing.

The species has been found across the Southeast Asia and the eastern Pacific, Borneo, Hawaii, India, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Australia in Queensland.

Habitat:

Backyard, spotted on the ceiling of the garage.
