Field Notes

Description:

Mostly black and shades of grey, these elegant birds have bright red bills with a pale bar near the tip. Flight feathers are white and they are known for its "S" shaped neck.

Habitat:

The Black Swan is common in the wetlands of south western and eastern Australia and adjacent coastal islands. Source: Wikipedia

These were seen in the southern Mangroves on Western Port Bay, Victoria.

Notes:

These swans were seen in the company of Silver Gulls, Pacific Gulls and Pelicans.
