Field Notes

Description:

A Tephritoidea fly that resembles a wasp. Medium-sized, about 15mm. Wings spread out sideways as it walks around this plant stem. It is vicious enough to attack a small centipede that got to close to it.

Habitat:

Plants and bushes in the rainforest of Gomantong Caves area on the way to Sukau, Lower Kinabatangan, Sabah.
