Pieris are the most common ones in Europe, Napi in some areas more common than Rapae and sometimes the most difficult to ID!! Depending on the generations/season, gender and size (small Large White is sometimes larger than a large Small White ;-)...). Some Napi: http://lepidoptera.nature4stock.com/?attachment_id=74 http://www.galerie-insecte.org/galerie/pieris_napi.html http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Pieris.napi.mounted.jpg http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Pieris_napi(Bielinek_bytomkowiec).JPG Is this really a Napi (as mentioned on the website)?? Looks at first sight like a Pieris brassicae. So these Pieridae are sometimes a real adventure!
Thanks bayucca, my guide book (small) has no info on Small white female at all and the Green-veined is only a picture of the top of the open wings and just says the veins on the underside are dark!
I think this is a female Small White. note the rectangular black patch on the forewing and the missing greenish strong markings on the ventral side.
There is a metalic bug on the # 2nd picture :)
