Description:

Large male relaxing alone on a rookery

Habitat:

The sea lions around the island hang out on rookeries like this one that were made just for them. Sometimes there is more than ten at a time on these resting places.

Notes:

According to NOAA, males can weigh up to 2,500 lbs (1,120 kg)
and females can weigh up to 770 lbs (350 kg). The Steller Sea Lion can live two to three decades.
