Field Notes

Description:

Caterpillar. Mostly Black with Yellow spots down back and sides. Iridescent blue/green knobs covered with white hairs. red face? Approx 1.75 in long.

Habitat:

Found on ground brush in Aspen Forest. Central Utah mountains at approx 8,000 ft.

Notes:

I've looked around and the closest guess I could find is Smeared Dagger Moth but I don't think that's right.
