Field Notes

Description:

Brown/gray wings with dark markings making this moth very camouflaged. Dark eyes and rings on the abdomen with the underwings having less markings and mostly just a lighter brown.

Habitat:

Mixed forests, suburban areas.

Notes:

Fluttered up to the lights on the porch, and with me being good with moths I relocated her from the area and put her back in the woods. I had been craving a sphinx this year and I'm glad I got the chance to hold her.
