Field Notes

Description:

The hummingbird is fluttering about a Zinna. He is very fast and about 2 inches in length. I believe it is a female because the ruby throat is quite subdued.

Habitat:

The Backyard habitat is shown in the second picture. The hummers love the bright garden flowers and they are also attracted to the coral honeysuckle in another part of the garden.

Notes:

The ruby throated hummer is the most common hummingbird in the North Texas area
