Field Notes

Description:

This is a little surprising but I found this caterpillar http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/27705022 back on June 17. About a week later I went back and found the chrysalis (see picture 1) and brought it home in hopes that I would be able to identify it once the moth emerged. After a week something strange came out of the bottom of the chrysalis (see picture 2). Which I now suspect to be eggs. Now fast forward to this morning and there are 50 or more of these small winged insects in the container with the chrysalis. Apparently there were things inside the chrysalis eating the pupa. Picture 5 is of one of the holes they used to escape from.
