Field Notes

Description:

The Yamfly , Loxura atymnus is a species of lycaenid or blue butterfly found in Asia.

Habitat:

Yamfly was sighted in the Eastern Ghats in Andhra Pradesh by members of Butterfly Conservation Society, a Hyderabad based organisation. A solitary butterfly was found in the Rajahmundry-Rampachodavaram road in East Godavari district of the state.

Notes:

A beautiful butterfly, orange-ish in color, visits our garden quite often in the rainy season. This is the first time I have spotted this butterfly in our garden and now i am quite observant about the butterflies that visit our garden everyday. And I am happy to note that many of them visit frequently.
