Description:

Family: Nymphalidae > Subfamily: Heliconiinae > Tribe: Argynnini. Smaller and generally more nervous and difficult to approach than its cousin the Gulf Fritillary. This little guy is also Florida's only true Fritillary, able to adapt to hosting on passion flowers as well violets, the preferred host of any true frit.

Purple Coneflower can be tricky, even up here and to be honest, this purpurea isn't naturally occuring in that garden, nor is it around anymore I am afraid.
I knew you had to be further North than where I lived as we could not easily grow Echinacea, your flower. We lived in Venice for many years.
