Field Notes

Description:

Caps were a purplish chestnut colour. The bigger of the caps was about 50 mm wide. A torn filamentous cortina was seen still attached to the margin of the cap and stretching to the stipe. At the stipe the torn fragments had caught some of the tan-coloured spores.The gills were stained a light brown. Stipes were purple with a bulbous base.

Habitat:

Spotted growing under eucalyptus trees.
