Field Notes

Description:

Duck-like body, sooty grey but beak is white as is the forehead shield.

Habitat:

Swimming in a waterbody on the outskirts of Mysore town by the side of a busy highway.

Notes:

It shared space with egrets, white ibises, pelicans and many species of ducks.
