Field Notes

Description:

The American bullfrog provides a food source, especially in the Southern and some areas of the Midwestern United States. While occasionally kept as pets, the bullfrog will still bite even when tamed, and can live 16 years or more in captivity. PetWatch, a project of EcoHealth Alliance advising on the suitability of different species as pets, has classified bullfrogs as "worst choice pets". The American bullfrog is also used as a specimen for dissection in many schools across the world. It is the state amphibian of Missouri, Ohio, and Oklahoma. -excerpts from Wikipedia

Thank you very much for correcting me NeilDazet. When I spotted a frog while ago, AshleyT kindly explained to me the difference between green frog and bull frog. Yet, I gave a wrong ID to this handsome frog ID :-(
