Description:

This insect resembles a small stinkbug but is unusually colored and has interesting maroon crisscross markings.

Habitat:

Grassy meadow at Mount Loretto Unique Area.

Notes:

It is sitting on an oxeye daisy.

Hi ForestDragon, that's an interesting suggestion. I checked the page you linked, but didn't see this particular bug on there. Like you said, Miridae is a large family. I'll look through Bugguide periodically or search Google for Miridae until there's a match. Thanks for the pointer!
Hi mauna! I am pretty sure your mystery insect is one of the Plant Bugs from Family Miridae, however, it is an extremely large family. I have been browsing through the pages on BugGuide and have not yet found a match, but it is likely there. http://bugguide.net/node/view/94/bgpage
Thanks, nisky912. Yes, there's an oxyeye daisy in the picture but this is an arthropod spotting.
