Field Notes

Description:

This caterpillar looks a lot like the other one I spotted some days ago (http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/25547058), but it has some distinctive features, like the green line along the sides of the body. I am looking for more info about it, but my guess is it is also an Archaeoprepona sp. Unfortunately, it looks like this beauty was infested by tachinid fly larvae. ID provided by EarlyStages.

And I saw the other Gaboon viper-like one many days ago. Interesting thing is that they both have animal-like features. For instance, this one kind of resembles a rhinoceros or tapir in the last photo. Awesome discoveries!
Not a beauty if you ask me. Nobody does these bizarre and mind-blowing CATs the way you do!
Fantastic series! Great spotting. Incredible caterpillar AGAIN!
