Field Notes

Description:

A small shrub-like tree with bunches of flowers. Each flower has many filaments. Invasive and can reach a height of 15 feet.

Habitat:

Grassy meadow.

Notes:

Mount Loretto unique area.

Unfortunately, not native and quite invasive. I think it is still used in some places as an ornamental plant. It has escaped cultivation in many areas. It is pretty when it is in bloom.
It's a rose, possibly wild rose (Rosa acicularis). But may be a hybrid type. It doesn't have to pink like Rosa acicularis so i would guess a hybrid.
