Field Notes

Description:

Male black bear foraging during early spring rut of 2012.

Habitat:

Mixed woodland.

Notes:

With spring coming so early last year, the male bears were starving come June, and resorting to breaking into barns and garages. This one started coming every day to flip our dumpster over, and was fearless. We've not seen him since last year; this year's spring was much more normal so the bears had enough to eat in the wild.
