This is a close cousin of the Pochard, same Genus but different species. In full breeding plumage during spring they are quite different but in summer they go into eclipse plumage and start to look more like each other, especially the females. The little tuft on the nape is a giveaway.
You would be correct. I uploaded the wrong pic and didn't catch it.
