So may be Sycanus cf. collaris? Or just Sycanus sp. and adding possible Collaris is the description section?
Hi Bayucca, firstly sorry about the stupid spelling error, corrected. I saw these images also but was reluctant to make a complete ID due to the hesitance of the people at Whats That Bug.
Looks like Sycanus collaris? http://www.whatsthatbug.com/2011/12/20/assassin-bug-from-india-2/ http://thailandwildlife.photoshelter.com/image/I0000Jy4XBtOsSsc http://www.wildlifethailand.com/index.php/Thailand-s-Wildlife/sycanus-collaris-assassin-bugs.html There is a little misspelling: Should be Assassin not Assasin...
Hi Lauren, it was only when I got home I saw the great colours, at the time I was constantly being bitten by some large mosquitoes that the locals call ''yung lai'', got dengue from these a couple of years ago.
Love this one with it's expanded blue abdomen and long neck!
