Field Notes

Description:

Entire body light brown with almost no color variations.

Might be a beetle. Though I have no idea what type. I just hope it is not a roach.

Notes:

I am hoping this is not what I think it is.

It is not skittish in the least.

When grabbed with paper towel it snaps its head and thorax up and this action makes an audible 'click'.

Species ID Suggestions

Wire worm

Conoderus scissus

Sure looks like a 'Click beetle' (Elateridae) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Click_beetle
