Description:
This tough bushy shrub was about 2 m tall and covered with long thin spiky needle-like leaves. Small curly white flowers were just appearing. Fruits were knobbly with a two-pointed beak.
Habitat:
Native to New South Wales, it is now naturalised in Victoria.
Spotted in a moist shady area in a native forest.
Notes:
"sericea" means "silky" and is said to refer to the hairs in young tips. There is nothing silky about the mature parts of these shrubs ! The flowers do look pretty and delicate.
