Field Notes

Description:

!!! I might have confused this species with the Pool frog (Pelophylax lessonae) !!!

Habitat:

The Marsh frog is water-bound so it often lives in or near lakes, canals, ponds and rivers. Marsh frogs often lay in the sun on the riverside. They prefer a water temperature of 15°C. In northern areas, Marsh frogs hibernate during winter. They do this either on land or in the muddy bottom of a pool.
