Description:

American Crows are common, widespread and adaptable, but they are highly susceptible to the West Nile Virus. They are monitored as a bioindicator. Direct transmission of the virus from American Crows to humans is not recorded to date, and in any case not considered likely.

Habitat:

My yard - This particular crow has become a frequent visitor. S/he especially likes grape jelly, apples and, lately, suet.

Thanks, Cindy. This crow seems to have adopted the yard as a part-time habitat and I named it Casey. Whenever Casey shows up, four grackles swoop in to harass him/her, but it doesn't deter Casey from visiting the various feeding stations for a treat.
