Field Notes

Description:

Large orange beetle with purple head and abdomen. Small head with a pair of relatively short antennae.Length about 25mm.

Habitat:

Paddy field. Warm to hot humid place. Altitude about 1000m.

Notes:

Spotted on a warm to hot humid day.

Pentatomoidea and most probably a Scutelleridae, Jewel Bug. Definitely not a beetle. Sorry, I did not find any usable link for you.
