Description:

Small, wavy, bracket-like fungus. White/tan upper with a "velvety" texture. Appears gilled underneath, but these are actually folds in the pore surface of the underside of the mushroom. Flexible like supple leather in texture. This mushroom shrivels up in dry weather and waits for moisture. It can be found worldwide.

Habitat:

Temperate forest. Growing on a downed tree. Connetquot River State Park, New York.
