This is a fat frog. Many of these live in my backyard. They also camoflauge.

Oh I completely understand, they are changing everything in the herp world right now and it is so hard to keep up!
Thanks for the info AshleyT. I was looking at an outdated reference and forgot about the Genus change. I should have known that!
Bufo is no longer the Genus for toads in North America, and the Fowler's Toad got raised to its own species years ago, it is no longer a subspecies of the Woodhouses Toad.
It is either American (Bufo americanus) or Fowler's toad (Bufo woodhousii fowleri).
