28.1315, -82.6583
Field Notes
Description:
Fawn that had been sequestered by its mother under a boardwalk for safe keeping. This was approximately 09:30 in the morning.
Habitat:
A local County nature Preserve in the area of the the Education Center and the Classroom buildings. The land area is primarily scrub with palmetto, oaks, some pine, light shrubs, and a man-made pond close by. Many of the deer are habituated to humans by several generations. Humans walking on and over the boardwalk did not seem to bother it.
