Description:

The size of the Green Heron is close to the Black-capped. It's short and stocky. An illusion that the neck is short, but actually just bent close to the body. Out stretched you can see the bold white stripes down the throat. Underside is mostly a deep chestnut color. Dark cap that has greenish sheen. The feathers on the back are longer and look almost greyish. Eyes are yellow Stands on long yellow legs.

Habitat:

Spotted near a small lake.
