Description:

the red bud tree has small pink or magenta flowers on its branches that usually appear in april. grows best in partial shade. can grow 20 to 30 feet and can be 30 feet wide. reddish-purple leaves change to dark green, then to yellow.

Habitat:

the red bud tree is native to eastern and south-central parts of the united states. it occurs in moist rich woods, along the banks of streams, in ravines, on bluffs, in open rocky woods, and abandoned farmlands.
