Field Notes

Description:

The Flying Lizard - Draco volans has skin flaps between their legs which they use to 'glide' not 'fly'. Usually, they glide from the higher canopy to the lower ground. This one was seen gliding down from tall trees near the hostel building to a wooden rail, which it blended well into for camouflage.

Habitat:

Tropical forest

Notes:

The Lizard was handled to explain the skin flaps it used to glide, and was released.
