Description:

I call this spotting a study in grey!! Black eye and darker brownish grey on back and wings, light grey head with slightly lighter eyebrow, grey undertail coverts, grey beak but note the interesting shape of the beak.

Habitat:

Garden at the French House B & B in St Helen's, Tasmania, east coast.

Notes:

Can any Aussie birders help me out here? Thanks Alice for your ID and your wonderful link!

Sorry Kathleen, it's a tricky spotting.
Guessing about 15 cm but I only saw this bird this one time, and it is at a distance in a tree so this is only a guesstimate. Thanks, do you have an idea for me to check out?
A rough estimate on size?
