I dont think it is the six spotted Fishing Spider because it does not have the 6 spots they would have? Also, I dont believe it to be the giant Water spider as I live in Vermont :)
Also looks a lot like Giant Water Spider - Megadolomedes australianus, but it is found in Australia, but worth checking out for comparisson http://www.brisbaneinsects.com/brisbane_spiders/WaterSpider2.htm
