Description:

Tick that jumped at me out of the grass. There are many of them and if you plan to bird watch or catalog plants along the Jones Beach bike trail, beware these ticks. I regret that the picture wasn't more clear but the reason the camera couldn't focus was because this insistent insect was coming straight at me!!
