Field Notes

Description:

Small cocoon (?) made of plant material. Cone shaped with more loose materiel near where it is attached to the leaf. Damage to leaves seen in pictures 3 and 4 (not sure that was caused by this organism but it seemd plausible). Possibly a Bagworm larva but I'm not sure.

Habitat:

Suburban garden. Japanese Maple.
