Field Notes

Description:

Grape vine with typical 3-pointed fan leaves and rough brown bark. White star-shaped flowers in Spring, bloom in March/April and produce fruit in clusters over Summer months, ripening to a rich blue-purple in August/September.

Habitat:

Typically found along streams and rivers where the ground is damp and the soil is rich with nutrients. Found throughout most of California and Southwestern Oregon.
