Field Notes

Description:

Working as a team, the green ants make a 'bridge' between leaves and draw the edges together. The leaves are then stitched together using the silk produced by their larvae. When the span is too big for one ant, two work together interlocking their legs. Amazing to watch their progress.

Habitat:

At edge of forest at Cattana Wetlands QLD

Beautiful, Andrea. I think, like me, you too are a lover of ants.
Tacksamicke Tiz. Yes they are amazing, what they can achieve en masse.
