Thank you, Emily, Harum, Oneng, Mayra, Susan, Jared, Fyn, Ipwill1 and Noel!
Awesome sighting! Congratulations Maria!
Makes me think of wood when I look at it, so its not surprising that it is found in the woods! Very nice find.
Beautiful, Maria! Great shot! Congrats on spotting of the day! (Well deserved!)
Thanks so much for all your nice comments – glad to see this beautiful moth getting the recognition it deserves. I added a bit more information. The only thing about moths I remember from childhood is seeing small white ones for which my mother said we needed to use mothballs to prevent them from eating holes in our woolen clothes. Before Project Noah, I thought of butterflies as the beauties of the insect world and moths as their drab, whitish cousins. So glad to have learned that the moths can be stunning and interesting, thanks to all the wonderful postings by other Project Noah members!
Congratulations Maria ! Awesome name to the moth! so friendly like you. ha ha ha :)

Thanks, catsincluded, Carrol and Rieko. I used to think of moths as mostly whitish, drab insects and have learned that they are so many kinds with some being true beauties!
