Description:
Small bird, conspicuous white eye ring, short dark pointed beak, often called white eye and is a member of this group of birds. Colouring varies across its range throughout eastern, southern and south western Australia and Tasmania. The northern Yellow White Eye (Z. luteus) is more brightly coloured but doe overlap with the range of others. Cross breeding may occur with these birds.
Habitat:
Found throughout eastern, southern south west Australia and Tasmania in woodland, gardens and orchards. This one in garden adjacent to high country woodland enjoying nectar from Grevillea robusta tree (Silky Oak).
