Description:
Family: Cossidae (Carpenterworm and Leopard Moths) Female. TL: 45 mm. Wingspan: 89 mm. Semi-translucent whitish FW has a desne network of black veins and lines. Blackish blotches of variable size mark basal and median lines. Sexually dimorphic and females are significantly larger. Resembles sphinx moth. Very dense and long thick abdomen. Hosts: ash, chestnut, locust, oak, etc. Larvae can be harmful to the tree.

Notes:
The vibration on my arm and hand felt like a static electricity shock. This moth is extremely heavy. I was so surprised.
