Description:

This fern can be an epiphyte or have a terrestrial habit (like this spotting), but it usually grows on organic matter. They thrive in warm/humid conditions with at least some shade..

Habitat:

Growing on a rotting coconut log (Cocos nucifera) in a large semi-urban yard & garden adjacent to a disturbed patch of remnant forest. This is the equatorial tropics of northern New Guinea.
