Description:

Syritta orientalis Macquart, 1842, a thick-legged hoverfly, distributed in India, Australia (NT, Qld), Hawaiian Is, Indonesia (Maluku), Micronesia, widespread in Oriental Region.

Family Syrphidae, Subfamily Eristalinae, Tribe Milesiini, Subtribe Tropidiina.

Habitat:

Backyard garden, spotted on White Angel or Snowflake Flowers (Wrightia antidysenterica).
