Field Notes

Description:

Attractive shiny chestnuts-like fungi in groups of about 5 to 10. About 40mm wide and 55mm tall. Umbo. Possibly blue-green spores? Close, simple cream coloured gills.

Habitat:

In wood chip mulch in a local nature reserve.

Notes:

Yes I really should not have added that comment about the subos but while I was trying to take these pictures a carload of young guys stopped and pestered me for ages to find some magic mushrooms for them. I refused but the comment was a reminder. Thanks guys.

Ah, I suspect as much. Yeah definitely not a Psilocybe.

Ha.. sorry GM. The local hippies have named 'Psilocybe subaeruginosa' as 'subos'
